I've seen so many social media posts today calling this "the sweetest Easter ever"... they aren't wrong.
Somehow, even though we can't leave our homes, I felt more connected this Easter than I have in a long time. I missed being with my parents and siblings' families terribly but there was something about taking all of the rush of the day (really any holiday where children are involved) out of the equation that I think resonated with a lot of us.
The Easter bunny still found us, we still found time to stuff our faces full of food, we still spent time with our families (thank you, Zoom), we still got dressed up (much to the male half of my family's dismay) and we still celebrated the reason for the season. His is risen, indeed...was there ever any doubt?
Maybe. Maybe I doubted that Easter could still be Easter if it wasn't just so. I am glad to be wrong.
Also we dyed Gracie's hair pink today. Hate to tell ya kid, but your hair looks like an Easter egg (name that movie).
